Beginning in mid May fishing for Halibut out of Anchor Point, Alaska begins. Anchor Point is a small fishing community south of the town of Soldotna where Moose Creek Lodge is located. The drive will take our guests forty five minutes on a good paved highway. Halibut trips run from May 25th through September 7th. In May and early June our partners offer saltwater king salmon and halibut combo trips. Starting June 8th we concentrate on halibut only. The halibut in our area average 30 pounds with many fish in the 100-200 pound class landed each season. The best tasting halibut run 20-40 pounds. Halibut boats are 32′ six person maximum fishing vessels complete with cabin and head.
